This  series  of works in oil and cold wax highlight and explore the fascinating life cycle and mythologies of the Cicada. The characteristic size, sound and unusual hibernation patterns of this beautiful insect are deeply imprinted in both the human collective unconscious and as a part of our individual life experience. It is a reminder of the complex web of life beyond the superficiality of civilization.
